Chocolate chip cookies
Small golden cookies with chocolate in every bite. Makes about 30 small cookies.
- 150 g salted butter, softened
- 80 g light brown sugar
- 80 g granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 225 g plain flour
- 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 200 g chocolate chips
- Heat oven to 190°C (170°C fan); line baking trays. Cream butter with both sugars, then beat in vanilla and egg.
- Mix in flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt, followed by chocolate chips. Portion into about 30 small scoops, spaced well apart.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are lightly browned and centres remain soft. Let set briefly on the trays, then cool on a rack.
